Women from the areas of irrigation systems develop their leadership skills

About 40 pro-active women from the areas of the irrigation systems rehabilitated with the Compact support develop their leadership skills at a workshop held on March 25-26 in Chisinau. The event is moderated by Ann Graham, gender expert from USA.
”We have to overcome the perception that public life is just for men. It is true that when women get involved there are reserves, but in reality women work twice as hard as men, are twice as responsible and most often women’s work is not paid for”, Ann Graham says.
At this workshop the participants work in groups and share their experiences, learn how to analyse a problem and find solutions, study types of leadership and the key features of a leader, develop their negotiation skills.
Providing equal opportunities to all the Compact beneficiaries is a priority of the MCA Moldova’s projects, while gender equity is a precondition to all the activities related to the irrigation sector reform and transition to high value agriculture.
